Pine Lodge originated from a log farmhouse (now the front hall
of the Lodge) brought to the site from the nearby Russell family
farm in the mid-1920's. From this modest start, Charles Russell
and family (the founders of the business) supervised the numerous
additions and extensions that you can see at the Lodge today.
The Lodge building continued to serve in its capacity as a year-round
resort with the addition
of tennis courts, a 9-hole golf course,
a bowling green , a two-lane bowling alley and a riding stable.
(The bowling alley remains in the basement section of the Lodge
awaiting restoration). Many of the photographs and furnishings
in the Lodge date from the 1920's and 30's.
The Thompson family acquired the business in 1969 and has taken tremendous care to maintain the original architectural era of the Lodge. The family has painstakingly and lovingly been in the restoration process since 1969.
Today you can experience the past! The 1930's Lodge offers a unique
dining experience, ten “bed & breakfast style” rooms located
a stones throw from our 9 hole golf course, white sand beach, kayaking
and cycling opportunities. Pine Lodge offers a relaxing atmosphere
whether you want to be active or just enjoy the scenery – the choice
is yours – be our guest!
